I take this opportunity to thank my colleagues the TVET Principals in the Coast region for their co – operation and support during the year 2017 – 2018 activities. Their support for the Regional TVET Fair made the event very successful.  The regional TVET Fair Exhibition was held at Kilifi town in Kilifi County.  Godoma Technical Training Institute hosted us at the Water Grounds between the 8th and 10th of March 2018.

The member institutions who participated in the Regional TVET fair included the Technical University of Mombasa(TUM), Kenya Coast National Polytechnic(KCNP), Coast Institute of Technology(CIT), Godoma Technical Training Institute(GTTI), Weru TVC and Ahmed Shahame Mwidani Technical Training Institute.

The KATTI Coast region coordinates its activities through committees formed by nominees from all the member institutions.  The national TVET Fair was attended by KCNP, TUM, and GTTI from the region and many innovative exhibits were presented during this event.   The region also participated in the National athletics Championships held at Nakuru represented by Coast Institute of Technology and Godoma Technical Training Institute.  The region was represented by KCNP in the KETISA games for Polytechnics.

The Coast region is pleased that the new TavetaTVC now has a Principal. May I take this opportunity to congratulate and welcome the new Principal Mr. Ibrahim Nyambu to the regional TVET team.  The operationalization of Taveta TVC will increase the number of public TVET institutions to 7 in Coast region namely TUM, KCNP, CIT, GTTI, Weru TVC, ASMTTI and TTVC.
